Gavin Abrams is a tenor trombonist who grew up in Delaware, Ohio and is now located in the Greater Columbus area. Since graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Trombone Performance, he has been taking gigs around Central Ohio with groups such as the Westerville Symphony Orchestra and the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra.

Gavin is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Trombone Performance at The Ohio State University under Dr. Elisabeth Shafer Suffern.

While in high school, Gavin studied with Dr. James Green, before studying with Dr. Jeremy Smith and Dr. Anthony Weikel in college. Developing a sound that is dark and rich, he has prepared himself for any piece of music that could be thrown at him, be it classical, jazz, or contemporary.

Gavin currently performs with a Greenhoe GC4-1R tenor trombone.
